Under Construction!

Last Monday we started getting our kitchen, entry, powder bath and laundry room retiled. Our original tile had a bunch of hairline cracks in several of them and so the manufacturer paid for us to put in new tile. (we paid a bit extra for 20 inch tile with tumbled edges and had it put in diagnally). It was such a pain having no stove, our fridge in the front room and our kitchen table surrounded by couches, washer and dryer and unable to use for the week. On Saturday, the tile was ready to be sealed and we started dusting. Holy cow- there is so much dust. We dust and then an hour later there is more. It must be falling from the ceiling or something. I have a feeling we will be doing more dusting than usual for the next while. Yesterday after church, we finished moving things back and continued cleaning. At the end of the day, exhausted, Jimmy said, "so much for a day of rest!" We love the finished project though- our kitchen is brighter now.

The new tile looks so great! I've never seen those rugs that you had hanging over the couch in the second picture - they're way cool!

p.s. So, what's the plan for our Girl's Weekend?

Camile, those are beach mats. I got them on clearance at the end of the summer. It'll be fun to take them boating this year.

I loved your new tile. Thanks for the e-mail. It's been crazy since the storm. My dad had surgery yesterday. I'll call you soon. Thanks for all your planning!

It looks great! I love the 20 inch tiles, and the diagonal is really nice. And I love those mats too--very cute.
